[All 70-741 Questions]

Note: This question is part of a series of questions that use the same scenario. For your convenience, the scenario is repeated in each question. Each question presents a different goal and answer choices, but the text of the scenario is exactly the same in each question in this series.
Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The functional level of the domain is Windows Server 2012.
The network uses an address space of 192.168.0.0/16 and contains multiple subnets.
The network is not connected to the Internet.
The domain contains three servers configured as shown in the following table.

Client computers obtain TCP/IP settings from Server3.
You add a second network adapter to Server2. You connect the new network adapter to the Internet. You install the Routing role service on Server2.
Server1 has four DNS zones configured as shown in the following table.

What should you do to enable Server2 as a NAT server?

  • A. From Routing and Remote Access, add an interface.
  • B. From Windows PowerShell, run the New-RoutingGroupConnector cmdlet.
  • C. From Routing and Remote Access, add a routing protocol.
  • D. From Windows PowerShell, run the Install-WindowsFeature cmdlet.

Explanation/Reference: Add the NAT routing protocol on a server with "Routing" role installed would cause the server to become a NAT server.

wrong NAT is not a routing protocol, it is an IP translation mechanism.

definitely A just look up step to enable NAT on RAS server - Right click on NAT by navigating to Routing and Remote Access -> VPN (server name) -> IPv4 -> NAT and click on New Interface... A new screen will be opened and select Ethernet and click on OK. Select Public interface connected to the Internet and select Enable NAT on this Interface

the others 3 also make no sense ... Role is allready installed and for nat you don't need routing protocols

YOU ARE HERE TO FORWARD ANSWERS NOT THOUGHTS _ IF YOU DO NOT KNOW DO NOT ANSWER IT . The RRAS server role has been installed. In order to use NAT, you need to add a routing protocol. After you added the NAT routing protocol, you need to add a “new interface” for internal and a “new interface” for external connection. On the external connection, you enable NAT. So, the answer should be: C. First add a routing protocol.

I think A is correct. It's the second step configuring NAT. B. From Windows PowerShell, run the New-RoutingGroupConnector cmdlet. This cmdlet is related to Microsoft Exchange Server. C. From Routing and Remote Access, add a routing protocol. ??? D. From Windows PowerShell, run the Install-WindowsFeature cmdlet. To configure NAT you must install Routing and Remote Access Role. Howerver since this question says that you has installed the Routing role service, you has already installed Routing and Remote Access Role.So you don't need to run Install-WindowsFeature cmdlet.

I think the given answer (A) is correct. This answer's link doesn't says adding protocol. However, the procedure can enable Server2 as a NAT server.

All signs point to C. Even Exam Ref says: Install Routing & Remote Access, select Routing Check box After you have installed the routing role service, you must enable NAT in Remote Access, Tools, clock Routing and remote access, in the console, right click your server & then click Configure and enable routing and remote access, in the setup wizard, choose Network Address Translation, click next, On the NAT Internet connection page, select the appropriate network interface and click next. So before you select the interface, you must select which service you want to use in the routing and remote access console.

I should point out that if NAT already exists in RRAS (beneath IPv4 section) you right click it an click 'add interface'. But if NAT does NOT show up beneath IPv4 you need to right click 'General' and then click 'New Routing Protocol'. So 'yes' MS assume that NAT is indeed a routing protocol. But this question suggest it is a new install of the Routing role, so therefore NAT should not be listed.

If you have a fresh install of RRAS (which is what we have here) the General tab doesn't show up, you need to configure it and select NAT where it will ask you to select an interface.

I thought it was C at first. But it is A. When you open RRAS for the first time and configure it, it takes you through a wizard. You select NAT > then it prompts you for the interface. As this is a fresh install of the Routing role this would be the situation when you first configure it.

I guess the answer is A Reason: 1) The question said " ..... You add a second network adapter to Server2. You connect the new network adapter to the Internet ..... " means Server2 already have access to internet. Thats why you can install the "routing and remote access" role .... :P :P :P 2) The answer pool says " From Routing and Remote Access, add a routing protocol .... " But Routing and Remote Access does not contain any "ROUTING" or "ROUTING PROTOCOLS" ... So C is not the answer. 3) NAT is not classified as a "Routing protocol". NAT has no link or relation with Routing protocol. Its just a IP translator that fully rely on Interface. What i want to say is , after selecting NAT, next option is select the interface....So eveb if you want to add a routing protocol, you cant do that between selecting nat and add interface. There is no scope .... So considering these facts...i am making my answer as A ..

Right answer is: C. From Routing and Remote Access, add a routing protocol. these are the steps to enable NAT: 1. right click on General from RRA->server1->IPv4 2. select "new routing protocol" 3. select "NAT" and NAT is added under the IPv4 features util now NAT is enable like feature but not configured 4. right click on NAt and "add new interfaces" ... ... etc... to configure inside and outside interface... tested in lab. so I belive that to enable NAT you need to do until sep 3. so answer C is the correct one

i believe the answer lie's in the syntax, steps are after you install routing, you "Enable" Nat, then select the interface, the question says that routing is install what do you "Enable" next? https://www.experiencingit.net/windows/windows-server/windows-server-2016-nat-router/
