I think it's not D because you can use an existing channel. Not needed to create a new one. Documentation says "You add the app to your Teams channel in Microsoft Teams" Ref: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/boards/integrations/boards-teams?view=azure-devops#add-the-azure-boards-app-to-microsoft-teams

Azure DevOps allows integration with Microsoft Teams through service hooks, which can notify Teams when work items are updated. To set this up: In Azure DevOps, go to Project Settings > Service hooks. Click Create Subscription. Select Microsoft Teams as the service. Configure the trigger to notify on work item updates. Authenticate and select the appropriate Teams channel. Save the subscription.

Between A and B, you have to do B first to allow Microsoft Teams to connect to external services (like Azure DevOps) by configuring a connector in Microsoft Teams. (Please ignore my previous answer of A)

While both service hooks and connectors are involved in this process, the critical step for receiving work item notifications is still configuring the service hook in Azure DevOps. The connector in Microsoft Teams is used to receive and display the notifications from Azure DevOps, but the service hook is the primary tool that triggers the notifications.

The question is about integrating Azure DevOps with Microsoft Teams, the link you shared does not tell you how to send notifications to a Teams channel, but to individual project members by email. This is the correct link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/boards/integrations/boards-teams?view=azure-devops#add-the-azure-boards-app-to-microsoft-teams

A. From Azure DevOps, configure a service hook subscription Here is how you can do it: In your Azure DevOps project, navigate to Project settings. Under Service hooks, create a new subscription. Choose Microsoft Teams as the service. Configure the subscription to trigger on work item updates and specify the details of the Teams channel where you want to send the notifications. This setup allows Azure DevOps to send notifications to Microsoft Teams based on the conditions you specify (e.g., when a work item is updated).

A will be the answer: You can use a connector to connect Microsoft Teams to Azure DevOps, but you still need to configure a service hook subscription in Azure DevOps to receive notifications. If you read the question carefully. Objective is to receive the notification..

To just receive a notification from Azure DevOps, a service hook should be sufficient. Can someone explain why that's not the case?

Configuring integration between Azure DevOps Server and Teams is a two-step process. First set up a connector in Teams, then set up one or more service hook subscriptions in your Azure DevOps Server project. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/service-hooks/services/teams?view=azure-devops ->
