Selected Answer: C
Cannot deploy in GatewaySugnet, and if deployed in Subnet1 or Subnet2 VM1 or VM2 will start accessing the Internet by using the NAT GW IP address. Thus, a new subnet (4th) is needed.

But NAT gateway cannot be used with Basic SKU public IP addresses. "Basic resources, such as basic load balancer or basic public IPs aren't compatible with NAT gateway. NAT gateway can't be used with subnets where basic resources exist. Basic load balancer and basic public IP can be upgraded to standard to work with a NAT gateway." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/nat-gateway/nat-overview Does it change the answer to 3 ?

Selected Answer: B
• Since VM1 and VM2 will retain their public IPs, NAT Gateway will not manage their outbound traffic. • No additional subnets are required to deploy the NAT Gateway. • Therefore, VNet1 only needs 3 subnets: Subnet1, Subnet2, and the existing GatewaySubnet.

Actually since we can't associate the NAT Gateway to any of the other three subnets, then a fourth subnet is required.

NAT gateway doesn't require a subnet itself, only require a subne to be associated with. So the answer is 3

I'm not so good with Spanish I'll try with English :-) You need a 4th subnet because if you connect NAT gateway with the subnet 1-2 the VMs will use the public IP of the NAT gateway. you can't attach a NAT gateway to a Gatewaysubnet too, so you need a fourth subnet. read this ""The NAT gateway takes precedence over a load balancer, regardless of the outbound rules. The gateway also takes precedence over public IP addresses that are assigned directly to VMs."" https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/networking/guide/well-architected-network-address-translation-gateway#operational-excellence
