Group: Group 1-Security Group https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/users/licensing-admin-center "This article shows you how to use the Microsoft 365 license center to assign licenses to Security groups." Portal: M365 Admin Center https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/users/licensing-admin-center "Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center as at least a License Administrator." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/users/licensing-groups-assign "Starting September 1st, the Microsoft Entra ID Admin Center and the Microsoft Azure portal will no longer support license assignment through their user interfaces. To manage license assignments for users and groups, administrators must use the Microsoft 365 Admin Center"

Group 1 - Security Group Portal: The Microsoft 365 admin center They have moved the license group from Entra to 365 admin center. Adding, removing, and reprocessing licensing assignments is only available within the M365 Admin Center.

I disagree with your second option - even thought it is correct now. Group: Security Group (you don't need email and other stuff included in an M365 group) Portal: Since September it is indeed M365 Admin Center but this exam was updated in July. And it was still Entra then. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/users/licensing-groups-assign

I looked deeper into this topic. Microsoft states: "We review our cloud-based exams quarterly. Any changes that affect the objective domain and the existing questions are incorporated into the exam. Specifically, technically inaccurate questions are removed from the exam; some items are modified, and new items may be created to assess new, but related, skills." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/frequently-asked-questions?source=recommendations#what-is-the-process-for-determining-if-an-exam-has-been-updated-when-a-new-feature-or-function-is-added-or-when-something-has-changed-in-the-associated-technology- This exam was updated in July (Q3). The feature was updated in September (Q3). It is now November (Q4). Meaning, the correct answer should be Portal: M365 Admin Center. I am going to answer M365 Admin Center and add a comment. I remember other Microsoft exams where they still asked outdated features years after the fact.

I prefer security group, but both seem to work. The Microsoft 365 group needs to be "private" and "role" assignment.
