You have an Azure subscription that contains the resources shown in the following table:

Log files from App1 are registered to App1Logs. An average of 120 GB of log data is ingested per day.

You configure an Azure Monitor alert that will be triggered if the App1 logs contain error messages.

You need to minimize the Log Analytics costs associated with App1. The solution must meet the following requirements:
• Ensure that all the log files from App1 are ingested to App1Logs.
• Minimize the impact on the Azure Monitor alert.

Which resource should you modify, and which modification should you perform? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

I think it is the right answer. "In addition to the pay-as-you-go model, Log Analytics has commitment tiers, which can save you as much as 30 percent compared to the pay-as-you-go price. With commitment tier pricing, you can commit to buy data ingestion for a workspace, starting at 100 GB per day, at a lower price than pay-as-you-go pricing." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/logs/cost-logs#commitment-tiers

Answer is correct. Workspace1: This is the Log Analytics workspace where the logs are ingested. Modifying this resource helps manage costs associated with log ingestion. Change to a commitment pricing tier: Commitment tiers offer discounted rates for log ingestion based on a fixed commitment, which can significantly reduce costs compared to the pay-as-you-go pricing tier, especially when dealing with large volumes of data like 120 GB per day. This change ensures that all log files are ingested while minimizing costs and impact on the Azure Monitor alert.

App1: Why Not: Modifying App1 does not directly affect the cost associated with log ingestion in the Log Analytics workspace. App1Logs: Why Not: App1Logs is already configured to use the Analytics Logs data plan. Changing its settings does not address the overall cost efficiency for log ingestion. Change to the Basic Logs data plan: Why Not: The Basic Logs data plan is generally cheaper but does not support advanced analysis and may not meet the needs for alerting and other features required. Set a daily cap: Why Not: Setting a daily cap limits the amount of data ingested, which could result in missing logs and not meeting the requirement to ensure all log files are ingested

For app1 you are incorrect in broader context than this specific question. If app1 is modified to log less of everything but really necessary stuff, it will affect the volume and thus the cost.

Given answer is correct, committed pricing tier offers discounts because you are commit to set of resources in this case 120GB of storage requirement and workspace is correct

Answer is correct. Since you have an average of 120GB of log data per day, to minimize costs and impact you should to change the "Workspace1" plan from "pay-as-you-go" to "commitment pricing tier"; the "commitment pricing tier" is good starting at 100GB per day of logs. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/logs/cost-logs#commitment-tiers

Answer is correct. We know the average amount of logs is over 100GB ingested daily so we can commit to buy data ingestion.
