Autopilot does not upgrade Windows version. The only approach listed to perform upgrade in-place is MDT with DEFAULT image

Autopilot does upgrade to Win 11, and there is no MDT in Azure AD, but the least Administrative effort is Subscription Activation, so the answer is D.

The question doesn't say anywhere that they have on-premise infrastructure setup which is needed for MDT and Config Manager. so both options A & B are gone. Windows Autopilot can upgrade your computer from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro, but to upgrade Pro to Windows Enterprise edition, a Subscription is needed. So correct answer is D.

Lots of debate on this one, but I think D is correct. Here's why (with the help of chat GBT) -You have Windows 10 Pro devices -You have Microsoft 365 E5 (which includes Windows 11 Enterprise licensing) -You want to upgrade to Windows 11 Enterprise -You want to minimize admin effort (I think this piece is key here) -You want to do an in-place upgrade (keep files, apps, settings) Subscription Activation allows devices with Windows 10/11 Pro to automatically upgrade to Enterprise edition without reinstalling the OS — as long as: -The device is Azure AD-joined or hybrid joined -The user has an M365 E3 or E5 license -The base OS is Windows Pro (which your 25 devices already have) The other options are wrong because they either don't support in place upgrades, or have too many steps/too complex to be considered the least effort solution

It is A for me. But for me the easiest way would be to use a feature update profile from Intune (Autopilot is not required). As it is not an option, I think it is A.

ChatGpt answer not sure if it's correct or not : The correct answer is D. Subscription Activation. Explanation: Subscription Activation is a feature that allows you to upgrade Windows 10 Pro installations to Windows Enterprise using the rights granted by a Microsoft 365 subscription (such as your E5 subscription). This method performs an in-place upgrade without requiring the deployment of new images or additional configuration tools. As a result, it minimizes administrative effort compared to solutions like MDT, Configuration Manager, or Windows Autopilot. Thus, with your setup (25 Windows 10 Pro computers managed via Microsoft Intune under a Microsoft 365 E5 subscription), Subscription Activation is the optimal choice to upgrade to Windows 11 Enterprise.

The answer is correct, Autopilot won't upgrade versions, just like Subscription activation won't upgrade from 10 to 11 enterprise

This question has a most even split of answers I've seen yet. I think the answer is A but I KNOW the answer isn't D because of this line at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/windows-subscription-activation?pivots=windows-10 Note Subscription activation is available for qualifying devices running currently supported versions of Windows. Subscription activation can't be used to upgrade to a newer version of Windows.

Subscription activation is available for qualifying devices running currently supported versions of Windows. Subscription activation can't be used to upgrade to a newer version of Windows. This leaves only the option A as a correct answer.

Selected Answer: A
The answer cannot be B, you cannot use a custom image to do an in-place upgrade The answer cannot be D, Subscription activation can't be used to upgrade to a newer version of Windows https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/windows-subscription-activation?pivots=windows-10 So that leaves A or C as potential correct answers. According to this article you would need configuration manager to deploy an OS upgrade with Windows Autopilot https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/autopilot/existing-devices So for me, the only possible correct answer is A

Microsoft's Subscription Activation feature allows you to seamlessly upgrade Windows 10 Pro devices to Windows 11 Enterprise without requiring reimaging or an in-place upgrade process. When you assign a Microsoft 365 E5 license to a user signed into a Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro device, it automatically upgrades the operating system to Windows 10 Enterprise or Windows 11 Enterprise.

The correct answer, based on the requirement for minimal administrative effort and the availability of Microsoft Intune, is: C. Windows Autopilot Explanation: Windows Autopilot is designed for automating device setup and provisioning with minimal intervention, making it ideal for upgrading and configuring multiple devices through cloud-based services like Intune. Since the organization has Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot allows a streamlined process to upgrade to Windows 11 Enterprise without the need to manage complex deployment images or on-premises tools like MDT or Configuration Manager. Subscription Activation (Option D) is typically used for license activation, not for performing upgrades.
