Question #: 161
Topic #: 1
[All 70-764 Questions]

You have two SQL Server instances named SQLDev and SQLProd that have access to various storage media.
You plan to synchronize SQLDev and SQLProd.
You need to recommend a solution that meets the following requirements:
✑ The database schemas must be synchronized from SQLDev to SQLProd.
✑ The database on SQLDev must be deployed to SQLProd by using a package.
✑ The package must support being deployed to SQL Azure.
What should you recommend? More than one answer choice may achieve the goal. Select the BEST answer.

  • A. A database snapshot
  • B. A data-tier application
  • C. Change data capture
  • D. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B 🗳️
* SIS supports connections to SQL Database by using the ADO.NET provider. OLEDB is not supported at this time. You can build the SSIS package connecting to
SQL Database and create the data flow tasks the same way as you would against a typical on premise SQL Server. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ ee210546.aspx

"BEST" answer questions are always. What means "BEST", in which way "BEST"? SSIS is a possible answer, but the "BEST" answer, for whatever reason, is B. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/data-tier-applications/data-tier-applications?view=sql-server-ver15

What is this question about? Deploying changes from Dev DB to the Production one. Does Prod DB need the Dev's data? of course no... So there is a requirement to synch changes from Dev to Prod on schema level.. this is a .dacpac file(which is called a package by Microsoft) generated by the data-tier application Have a read please - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/data-tier-applications/deploy-a-data-tier-application?view=sql-server-ver15

The answer is D. SSIS creates a package called a .dacpac or a .bacpac that encapsulates a database's schema and data. SSIS also supports Azure. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/data-tier-applications/data-tier-applications?redirectedfrom=MSDN&view=sql-server-ver15
