"For instance, “Approved Inventory” assets are always represented in dashboard charts and are scanned daily to ensure data recency. All other kinds of assets are not included in dashboard charts by default; " - but are they scanned daily ? This looks to me like a specificity issue in the documentation. Just because an asset is not displayed, does not mean it can't be scanned. To me these are 2 different actions.

Handling of different asset states These asset states are uniquely processed and monitored to ensure that customers have clear visibility into the most critical assets by default. For instance, “Approved Inventory” assets are always represented in dashboard charts and are scanned daily to ensure data recency. All other kinds of assets are not included in dashboard charts by default; however, users can adjust their inventory filters to view assets in different states as needed. Similarly, "Candidate” assets are only scanned during the discovery process; it’s important to review these assets and change their state to “Approved Inventory” if they are owned by your organization.

Answer: Both VM1 Reason: Asset states are uniquely processed and monitored to ensure that you have clear visibility into your most critical assets by default. For example, assets in the Approved Inventory state are always represented in dashboard charts, and they're scanned daily to ensure data recency. All other types of assets aren't included in dashboard charts by default. Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/external-attack-surface-management/understanding-inventory-assets

Both "VM1 only". From public documentation: "Approved Inventory": Scanned daily "Candidate": Scanned only during discovery Other states: Scanned "frequently" Question is specifically about "daily" scan.

Correct Answer “Approved Inventory” assets are always represented in dashboard charts and are scanned daily to ensure data recency. All other kinds of assets are not included in dashboard charts by default; however, users can adjust their inventory filters to view assets in different states as needed. Similarly, "Candidate” assets are only scanned during the discovery process "Candidate” assets are only scanned during the discovery process. Which means the others are scanned daily but only the candidate scanned during the discovery process. VM1 only represented in dashboard by default. VM1,VM2,VM3 are scanned daily.

Your answer is contradictory. As you mentioned - " “Approved Inventory” assets are always represented in dashboard charts and are scanned daily". Then you said VM1,VM2,VM3 are scanned daily.
