kube-proxy is the Kubernetes component responsible for handling network communications inside and outside of a cluster. It maintains network rules on each node, which allow network traffic to be properly routed to and from the Pods. kube-proxy can use operating system packet filtering (such as iptables or IPVS) to manage these network rules.
