Remember, Administrative distance (cisco)= preference (Juniper). So, now theres AD= Peference and metric. correct answer is A. metric isn't displayed anywhere on command output. https://ipwithease.com/comparison-of-cisco-and-juniper-administrative-distance/

It is A: https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos/bgp/topics/ref/command/show-route.html#show-route-command__d48917e62 If you look the documentation in the link above, the place of the metric is after the "date" but in the image there is no metric.

here an example: user@host> show route inet.0: 11 destinations, 12 routes (11 active, 0 holddown, 0 hidden) + = Active Route, - = Last Active, * = Both 1:65500:1:10.0.0.20/240 *[MVPN/70] 19:53:41, metric2 1 Indirect 1:65500:1:10.0.0.40/240 *[BGP/170] 19:53:29, localpref 100, from 10.0.0.30 AS path: I > to 10.0.24.4 via lt-0/3/0.24, label-switched-path toD [BGP/170] 19:53:26, localpref 100, from 10.0.0.33 AS path: I > to 10.0.24.4 via lt-0/3/0.24, label-switched-path toD inside square brackets -> route preference metric and localpref are optional and after the date

Answer is A: Module 9 of Juniper Open Learning, Routing Fundamentals describes the [Source/Route Preference]. The metric is 'how' a protocol calculates the best path to a destination. RIP = Hops, OSPF = Cost. Metrics are unique to protocols.

since it's stating: what does the number inside the square brackets represent? The number is the metric, the first part is, indeed, the protocol. B
