In JNCDS-DC course both compositions was described, one as L2 and second as L3. Assuming, thank both VMs are in one network here, I suppose, that the asnwer should be BC, and as quimsga mentioned, vSRX should be in transparent mode.

If we follow the question, it mentions "inter-vlan" traffic. Hence, they would need to be in separate vlans (otherwise it is intra-vlan traffic). Not sure if maybe this is worded incorrectly or possibly the IP addresses are listed there to confuse us. Still based on the wording of the question, I think the provided answers are correct.

If you read the question, it says to inspect inter-VM (virtual machines) and not inter-VLAN traffic. The right answer is BC

According to me is BC: vSRX has to be configured in transparent mode, separate vSwitches host VM in same subnet so have to host same VLAN. It's in micro segmentation chapter, Module 5 DC Security.

I think BC, The VMs are in the same IP subnet therefor should be in the same VLAN, to make sure all traffic passes through the vSRX separate vSwitches need to be used
