Click the Exhibit button. Referring to the exhibit, Router-1 is attempting to form an EBGP session with Router-2. However, BGP routes are never exchanged between Router-1 and Router-2. What is causing the problem?
A.
The TCP-MSS value is set too low
B.
The EXT group is not configured as an external type BGP peering session
C.
The EBGP session is configured to use the wrong AS
D.
The keep all statement is preventing the session from establishing
The answer is not B. It actually already is configured as an external session. You don't have to explicitly add the session type. But if you choose not to add the session type you HAVE TO specify the peer-as. The AS number you type in can refer to another AS or the local AS. If the number matches the local as then it will consider the session internal. If it doesn't match then it will consider the session external. The local-as is set to 5, but that's wrong. How do we know it's wrong? Because we have a working IBGP session with router 3. The show bgp summary command shows that the "working" as number for the IBGP session is 1. So to fix this problem, we should change local-as 5 to local-as 1
It's correct; "If the specified AS number does not match the AS number defined on the router, BGP assumes the session type is external. If the specified AS number does match the AS number defined on the router, BGP assumes the session type is internal."
IBGP is working, because te local-as 1 is most specify in the BGP Group, it is "independent".
The answer is not B, because if you configuration is worng, the software notifies you if you did not include the required details. C is the correct answer.
C is correct. External BGP is by default. Illustration shows that Router-1 with AS1 - but in configuration it has AS5
