Which data protection strategy would be useful for a situation where the ability to remove sensitive data from a set is needed, but a requirement to retain the ability to map back to the original values is also present?
Tokenization creates a new token for the data , it doesnt "remove sensitive data from a set", it just creates a token for the data.
where as masking removes the sensitive data and original values can be retrieved back if required. (e.g HR system showing masked value for SSN but original values can be seen by Authorized personnel.
