There are many situations when testing a BCDR plan is appropriate or mandated. Which of the following would not be a necessary time to test a BCDR plan?
While software updates are important, they do not always necessitate a full Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) test unless they significantly impact infrastructure, security, or business-critical operations. Routine updates to applications, operating systems, or security patches generally do not require a full-scale BCDR test.
Why Not the Others?
B. After regulatory changes: Compliance requirements may change, affecting how disaster recovery and business continuity plans must be executed.
C. After major configuration changes: Significant infrastructure or system changes (e.g., network topology, storage, or cloud migration) can impact recovery processes, requiring testing.
D. Annually: Many organizations have mandatory annual BCDR testing as part of best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).
Most people in the comment say its A. After software updates
Let's say if you choose A that means you agree that option B. After regulatory changes
we need to test BCDR plan which doesn't sound right.
Lets say Option A makes more sense to test BCDR when compared with Option B
B is correct, you'd have to update the BCP/DR plan when some software changes are made, however you won't need to retest it after every software change.
you are implying that the answer means every software update. if chrome updates you wont need to test the bcdr, but if a critical infrastructure software does, you will need to. regulatory changes is the best answer here, there is nothing about a "regulatory change" that inherently would mean you need to test bcdr. this question set is one of the few times id reccomend people do NOT read the discussions, 95% of the questions and answers are correct, but so many people in the comments are posting the wrong answers to confuse people
The correct response is "A". Please read the solution. The question doesn't read "all changes"
