A Business Continuity Plan focuses on keeping a company's critical functions running during and after a disruption to normal business operations. The primary goal of a BCP is to minimize the impact of an interruption to operations by ensuring that essential business functions can continue through redundancy, resiliency & backup mechanisms in place. As part of this planning process, companies identify their most critical processes and resources, outline procedures for restoring them quickly after a disruption occurs, allocate personnel accordingly to handle emergencies roles. On the other hand, Disaster Recovery Planning(DRP) focuses specifically on recovering IT infrastructure following significant disruptions like cyber-attacks or natural disasters etc., It details steps required for bringing systems back online including prioritizing which systems need attention first depending upon vulnerabilities\criticality-grading defined under policy framework i.e GRC etc , where database should be restored from backups or should it be built using incremental data captured at various restore-points backed up into cold storage-restore-path.
