A parallel test involves running a disaster recovery (DR) scenario where the organization’s IT systems and operations are run in parallel with the production environment, but without fully interrupting normal operations. This type of test allows the organization to validate if systems, processes, and staff can recover within the recovery time objectives (RTOs) without causing service disruptions. It provides an opportunity to measure if the recovery processes are efficient enough to meet the established RTOs.
I go with B. Even though the question didn’t state effectiveness or efficacy of test but to get RTO in preparation for DRP should be parallel testing
n a full interruption test, operations are shut down at the primary site and shifted to the recovery site in accordance with the disaster recovery plan. This is clearly a very thorough test, but one which is also expensive and has the capacity to cause a major disruption of operations if the test fails.
