Selected Answer: C
C. The Directive was annulled by the Court of Justice of the European Union. The Data Retention Directive (2006/24/EC) was annulled by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in 2014. The CJEU found that the Directive was invalid as it violated fundamental rights to respect for private life and the protection of personal data, as guaranteed by Articles 7 and 8 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
