This definition is broad and includes a wide range of activities involving personal data, whether automated or manual. According to Article 4(2) of the GDPR, processing encompasses operations such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction of personal data.
