You originally configured boot mode for HPE ProLiant Gen10 server to 'Legacy BIOS' in an HPE OneView server profile and deployed an operating system. A few weeks later, you change the boot mode to the 'UEFI optimized' to leverage some features provided by this mode.
What must you do next?

  • A. reset an iLO management processor to activate the new boot mode for the server
  • B. reinstall an operating system, as UEFI is using different drive format than Legacy BIOS

I think this one should be B, but I am not 100%. Everything I read said that you typically need to reinstall the OS if you change boot modes.

B is correct. NOTE: The boot mode you use must match the operating system installation. If not, changing the boot mode can impact the ability of the server to boot to the installed operating system. https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sf000046844en_us&docLocale=en_US
