D. Physical security
In the shared responsibility model for cloud services:
- The cloud provider is responsible for the security "of" the cloud, which includes:
Physical security (e.g., securing data centers, infrastructure, hardware).
The underlying infrastructure (e.g., storage, networking, servers).
Hypervisor and hardware maintenance.
- The customer is responsible for the security "in" the cloud, which includes:
Data security and access policies.
Security of the operating system, software, and applications they deploy.
Proper configuration of cloud resources.
For "Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)" specifically:
The cloud provider ensures the hardware and virtualization layer is secure, but the customer is responsible for the OS, applications, and data security.
