Exam Professional Google Workspace Administrator topic 1 question 60 discussion

Your organization is planning to remove any dependencies on Active Directory (AD) from all Cloud applications they are using. You are currently using Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS) with on-premises AD as a source to provision user accounts in Google Workspace. Your organization is also using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) human resources information system (HRIS) that offers integration via CSV export and Open API standard.

Additional requirements for the solution include:

• It should not require a subscription to any additional third-party service.
• The process must be automated from beginning to end.

You are tasked with the design and implementation of a solution to address user provisioning with these requirements.

What solution should you implement?

  • A. Set up Azure AD and federate on-premises AD with it. Provision user accounts from Azure AD with the Google-recommended process.
  • B. Modify the GCDS configuration to use the HRIS application as the data source and complete any necessary adjustments.
  • C. Export HRIS data to a CSV file every day, and build a solution to define the delta with the previous day; import the result as a CSV file via the Admin console.
  • D. Build an application that will fetch updated data from the HRIS system via Open API, and then update Google Workspace with the Directory API accordingly.

Ignore everyone saying D, these people are just choosing ChatGPT answers over and over again despite it being 2 years outdated and no knowledge of the present exam or current google workspace

Also I really don't think they expect you to be able to build applications to be a Google Workspace Admin, B is the only reasonable option

You could post some meaningful links instead of saying these unhelpful words, I checked the documentation and didn't see that GCDS can sync from this type of data source, I'll vote D, even I thought this question was bad.

Could be possible that HRIS store information in LDAP database and can use GCDS to sync users?

I have not seen GCDS working with SaaS on the cloud before, It supports LDAP only.

Voting B and I agree with bobsmith69 (lol) below. D is unrealistic for most administrators and doesn't align with the goal of simplifying the provisioning process. B is the most practical and straightforward approach. GCDS is designed to synchronize user data, and since the HRIS system offers integration options, you can likely adapt GCDS to pull data from it instead of Active Directory.

Isso ai, uma vez que a ideia é "remover" a dependência do AD

B is the answer as it is the most simple and answers the 2 requirement. D maybe an answer but it requires another 3rd party dependency even if you develop it.

Selected Answer: D
Vote D. Why not B? Because: 1. HRIS offers integration via CSV export and Open API standard, whereas GCDS only supports LDAP to sync. https://support.google.com/a/answer/106368?hl=en&ref_topic=2679497&sjid=5054427946360089599-AP 2. GCDS Configuration Manager does not have CSV import or Open API option https://support.google.com/a/answer/6162412?sjid=5054427946360089599-AP A: No. Not relevant and no additional 3rd party service. C: No. Must be automated from beginning to end.

Selected Answer: D
Option D involves building a custom application that integrates with the HRIS system using the Open API standard to fetch updated user data. The custom application can then use the Google Workspace Directory API to update user accounts in Google Workspace accordingly. This approach allows for complete automation from beginning to end and ensures that user provisioning is not tied to on-premises AD or any third-party service.
