Refer to the exhibits.

Exhibit A -

Exhibit B -

Exhibit A shows two IPsec templates to define BranchIPsec_1 and Branch_IPsec_2. Each template defines a VPN tunnel.

Exhibit B shows the error message that FortiManager displayed when the administrator tried to assign the second template to the FortiGate device.

Which statement best explain the cause for this issue?

  • A. You should review the branch1_fgt configuration for the already configured tunnel with the name HUB1-VPN2.
  • B. You can define only one IPsec tunnel from branch devices to HUB1.
  • C. You can assign only one template with a tunnel of type static to each FortiGate device.
  • D. You can assign only one IPsec template to each FortiGate device.

Selected Answer: C
C. You can assign only one template with a tunnel of type static to each FortiGate device. This best explains the issue because only one static IPsec template can be assigned per FortiGate, and the error occurs due to conflicting static tunnel templates. The (D) statement is too broad and not entirely correct because: -FortiGate can support multiple IPsec templates, but not if they are both static. If one of the templates were dynamic, it would be possible to assign multiple IPsec templates to the same FortiGate device. -The error message specifically refers to a conflict due to static tunnel types, not because multiple templates are entirely forbidden.

Wrong. D is the correct answer. It is always the same Fortigate: branch1_fgt. There are two templates. But you can assign only one to the same device.

D is the correct answer per Study Guide Page 59. One Template per FortiGate Device, you have multiple tunnels inside the template.
