According to K10582, the following directory is where all EAV monitors were restricted to and needed to be placed on BIG-IPs running v9.2.2+:
/usr/bin/monitors
According to K11373, the following directory is the only directory where EAV monitors needed to be placed on BIG-IPs running v10.1.x - 10.2.x:
/config/monitors
According to K13423, the following directory is where all EAV monitors were located on BIG-IPs running v11.x.x+:
/config/monitors
According to K71282813, the directory for EAV monitors changed to the following path on BIG-IPs running v11.6.x+:
/config/filestore/files_d/Common_d/external_monitor_d
That said, considering the 301B exam only tests administrators on their knowledge of TMOS Version - 11.5 (Blueprint - K29900360), I would play it safe and choose the following directory for EAV monitors as it covers all 11.x.x software versions (according to the KB article) and stays within the exam's tested TMOS version:
/config/monitors
Based on F5 K71282813: Overview of BIG-IP EAV external monitors:
The script is imported and saved at this location in the file system /config/filestore/files_d/Common_d/external_monitor_d.
