C is correct. The problem with D is the "in one go". Not all the programs works like that

I think C is correct, D can be correct but they said "in one go" and it's not entirely true (some programs overwrite 2 or 3 times with 0 or 1 to avoid any recovery)

This comment is correct... secure wipe programs go over the harddisk multiple times, which is why D is incorrect.
