A is correct. When a file is deleted in a FAT system, it is initially just removed from the FAT table. The data remains untouched until the clusters are overwritten by another file.

Option D is incorrect because the file can be recovered before it is overwritten by new data on the disk.

but for the question itself, the answer should be D, unless question talks about overwritten then D is incorrect. I feel like this is a bit misleading since the question didn't asked in a correct way.
