Page 348 of CHFI e-Book: The Windows Vista and later versions renames the files stored in the Recycle Bin as $Ry.ext, whereas in older versions of Windows, it used be Dxy.ext. In this naming process, “x” represents the drive name, “y” a sequential number starting from 0, and “.ext” being the original file’s extension such as .doc, .docx, .pdf, etc. And the 3 examples on Page 349 also supported. However, I noted that near the end of Page 348, they also mentioned starting from 0. Will need EC-Council to verify.
