Selected Answer: B
FCIP (Fibre Channel over IP) is a protocol that connects local FC (Fibre Channel) SANs to remote FC SANs. It enables the creation of storage area networks (SANs) that span long distances, allowing organizations to consolidate their storage resources and to improve data accessibility and availability. FCIP operates by encapsulating Fibre Channel frames into IP packets and transmitting them over IP networks, allowing Fibre Channel SANs to be interconnected over long distances. It does not connect local iSCSI SANs to remote iSCSI SANs, as iSCSI is a different type of storage protocol.

I thinnk answer is B. From Dell Training slide. FCIP is used to interconnects FC SANs over an IP network The protocol transports the Fiber Channel protocol and the SCSI block I/O data it carries over long distances, interconnecting geographically dispersed FC SANs.

B. connects local FC SANs to remote FC SANs is not true about the FCIP. FCIP (Fibre Channel over Internet Protocol) is a protocol that allows storage area networks (SANs) to be connected over long distances using standard IP networks, such as the Internet. FCIP allows local FC or iSCSI SANs to be connected to remote FC or iSCSI SANs, regardless of the physical location of the storage devices. FCIP works by encapsulating Fibre Channel frames in IP packets, which can be transmitted over IP networks. This allows data to be transferred between SANs at high speeds, with minimal latency and high reliability. FCIP is often used to extend the reach of SANs beyond the limits of traditional Fibre Channel networks, or to connect geographically dispersed SANs in a metro or wide area network (WAN) configuration. Therefore, the correct answer is D. connects local FC or iSCSI SANs to remote FC or iSCSI SANs.
