A VMAX3 with internal tiers of EFD and 10k drives is using FAST.X with XtremIO. How can the existing infrastructure be leverage while minimizing increased storage capacity? in the impl.bin file?
I have doubts about B option is correct. My thoughts and assumptions are:
1. What we have. VMAX3 with tiering 10k + EFD inside.
2, XtremIO outside connected. XtremIO is all flash and connected capacity will have EFD disk type.
3. XtremIO is available to provide and utilize huge amount of IOPs
4. XtremIO is connected to VMAX3 via DX emulations
5. There is two optons cab be performed in case of XIO connected:
DX_Lite 1/3 of EFD are external
DX_Heavy 2/3 of EFD are external
6. According options we have DX_Hevay is the closest.
BUT!
I have doubts 'bout understaning the phrase "How can the existing infrastructure be leverage while minimizing increased storage capacity?"
What does it mean "leverage" in this sentence? utilize, using or enhance or strenghten ?
And what the question is about capacity? I'm confused.
But according this document, H14568 page 67, EMC XIO section
XIO appears liake an open systems host from VMAX3 perspective of view. Because of this and fact that XIO has very few prerequisite settings for host connections or volume properties, no settings need to be modified to connect DX directors to the XIO storage controllers and to configure XIO vplumes for FAST.X.
So, rhe Default option (answer B) seems to be more closer to correct according this part of H14568 official DOC of 2015 year. But in question we have info about 10k disks inside and EFD inside and ask of infrastructure 'leverage', Perhaps just for confusing a student :)
But I'd argue in that case that question is not fully correct and answers too. Because we also have an ask aboun IPML,BIN config file.
