A synthetic full backup enables a full backup copy to be created offline without disrupting the I/O operation on the production volume. Synthetic full backups combine the most recent full backup with subsequent incremental backups to create a new, consolidated full backup. This process does not require direct access to the production data or the need to perform another full backup, reducing the impact on the production environment and network resources.
