A benefit of synchronous remote replication is that it provides a near-zero Recovery Point Objective (RPO). Synchronous replication ensures that data is written to both the primary and remote (secondary) storage systems simultaneously. This means that in the event of a failure or data loss at the primary site, the remote site's data is up-to-date and consistent with the primary data, leading to a minimal or near-zero RPO.
