Using the Comptia Troubleshooting methodology, I'd say the answer is D. 1. Identify the problem - Newly installed printer is not printing duplex 2. Research - Search through knowledge bases / Internet search OR read the manual and verify the configuration. After you verify the configuration, and it still isn't working, I'd say C. Reinstall drivers/software and restart.

i would like to pick option A to see if it works. if the issue wasn't sorted out then i would like to go with option D ?

I disagree because the printer is new and comes with duplex right out of the box. If thats the case the default drivers that come with the printer (the tech has them because they already tried printing) should have duplex support and no new firmware needs to be installed

Firmware very often needs to be upgraded upon installation of a new device, you don't know how long it was sitting at the factory before being shipped to you and it's likely that the current firmware version is outdated. I've experienced this at my job countless times, needing to upgrade firmware immediately.
