I'm pretty sure MAC filtering box is supposed to be checked. Also I believe Disable SSID is supposed to be checked because Laura only wants two devices to be able to connect to it through MAC filtering, so there is no need to broadcast her network.

Any clarifications on Disabling the SSID broadcast and the Only 802.11g mode? Tick or untick them?

I think that "802.11g Only Mode" is an option because the specification is 802.11g and not enabling it would mean it remained backwards compatible with 802.11b, the difference for then selecting "802.11g Only Mode" would be the higher speed of 54Mbps. Either way it have the same channels available as 802.11b and, given that her neighbours are on 11 and 6, so long as Laura was on 1 there wouldn't be any overlap. The question doesn't say anything about her needing particular speeds of a maximum of 54Mbps, but maybe this is implied by her wanting to be used for finances? The more obvious inference from finances for me are the references to encryption and security.

Just curious with the HomeWifi- CompTIA- Secure$1- would they expect you to input the " - " hypen part to all the answers? Or does that not matter in this case, if it were the real exam? Thanks for the input in advance

Wouldn't the correct password actually be the pre-shared key aka CompTIA in this case? The router password listed here is what we would actually use in order to log to the router in order to get to the screens in the question in the first place. No?

Hi Jasperx, I think we are actually changing the router password in that Administrator Tools tab, so what is shown in the answer is correct ("Secure$1"). The wi-fi password/pre-shared key would most likely be set up in the Wireless Setup tab after selecting the security type. After selecting the security type a subsequent empty box would appear to input the wifi network password of "CompTIA". I went into my TP-Link wireless settings to confirm this.

I think check hidden SSID, I believe hidden SSID provides better security.

This question and seeing SSID and 802.11g selected confused me. Disabling SSID broadcast does provide better security by making the network disappear from the list if I remember correctly? but she doesn't specifically ask for better security she asks for the most encryption which I think is provided by WPA2. Disabling SSID broadcast =/= more encrypted network traffic, it's just more of a security method if you don't want people straight up connecting to your wifi. For 802.11g, I actually googled an unrelated forum about 802.11g and heard it's good for range but she's not asking for that either she's just asking for minimal interference which could be setting the channel to 1
