Answer is B and D. Cat6 cable is twisted pair cable, so you would use RJ45. When connecting unlike devices: PC - Hub PC - Switch Hub - Router Switch - Router A straight-through cable is used. You can terminate a straight-through cable two ways: 568A --- 568A 568B --- 568B Since you are connecting to a non-compliant MDI/MDI-X device, you must use the correct physical cable. If both devices were "Auto MDI/MDI-X" compatible, either a straight-through or crossover cable would work. Auto "MDI/MDI-X" was created because silly humans kept putting the wrong cables between two devices.

AI gets this one wrong. MDIX is a red herring. Straight through is used with dissimilar devices.

If you need a straight through cable, couldnt the answer be AD or BD? This is confusing.what makes the answer BD over answers AD? Thank you.

got confused with Non-Capable MDI-X switch. whether it mean non-capable of Auto MDI-X or it's non capable of crossing the MDI cable.?

Both A and/or B would be needed to connect the devices on a non MDIX system, but 568 is an ISO standard for cabling. An RJ45 connection is the only thing resembling termination. Also if you flip the cable with 568A on one end 568B on the other, you’ve made answer A become answer B and answer B become answer A. Non MDIX means it’s not able to use anything but a crossover. X=crossover. While A and B are correct for the operation the question is asking about termination, not wiring. It’s a terrible question.

Sorry mate but that is totally wrong. You can not connect direct cables or crossover cables in all devices, specially old ones. each pin have a function, when you connect a direct cable in devices same layer it means you are sending and the receiver will receive in the sending pins so you will not have communication. What you need to know is, same layer crossover cable, different layer direct

MDIX is used to help connect the two switch ports together whether it is a crossover cable (TIA568B to TIA568B/DCE to DCE), or a straight through cable (TIA568A to TIA568B/DCE to DTE), this eliminates the need to decide between which type of cabling you need to use. https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/AOS-S/16.10/MCG/KB/content/kb/int-mdi-mod.htm#:~:text=straight%2Dthrough%20cable.-,mdix,with%20a%20straight%2Dthrough%20cable. This gets very confusing for many, but straight-through cables are mainly used for connecting non-similar devices like a router/switch to a desktop computer, while crossover cables are mostly used for connecting similar devices like a desktop computer to a laptop computer. https://www.guru99.com/difference-between-straight-through-crossover-cables.html#:~:text=Straight%2Dthrough%20cables%20are%20mainly,Router%20and%20Computer%20to%20Computer.

The question says the switch is NOT MDIX capable. Which means it can't auto switch if you plug the wrong cable in. Answer A is INCORRECT.

To shed some light, chatGPT said: The two required connectors and terminations to make a Cat 6 cable that connects from a PC to a non-capable MDIX switch are: D. RJ45 - This is the standard connector type for Ethernet cables, including Cat 6 cables. B. TIA-568-B - TIA-568-B is one of the two wiring standards used for Ethernet cabling, and is the recommended standard for Cat 6 cables. The other options listed are not applicable in this scenario: A. TIA-568-A - TIA-568-A is the other wiring standard used for Ethernet cabling, but is not the recommended standard for Cat 6 cables. C. RJ11 - This is a connector commonly used for telephone cables, but is not suitable for Ethernet connections. E. F-type - This is a connector commonly used for coaxial cables, but is not suitable for Ethernet connections. Therefore, the correct answers are B. TIA-568-B - TIA-568-B and D. RJ45.

B. TIA-568-B - TIA-568-B D. RJ45 To make a Cat 6 cable that connects from a PC to a non-capable MDIX (Auto-MDI-X) switch, the following connectors and terminations are required: B. TIA-568-B - TIA-568-B : TIA-568 is a standard for commercial building telecommunications cabling. TIA-568-B is a standard for terminating twisted pair cables, it is commonly used in networking. The TIA-568-B standard is used for both ends of the cable, as the switch is not capable of Auto-MDI-X. This means that the cable ends must be wired in a specific way to ensure that the correct connections are made. D. RJ45 : RJ45 is a type of connector commonly used for Ethernet cables. It is a 8-pin connector that is used to connect twisted-pair cables to networking devices such as switches, routers, and PCs.
