Selected Answer: D
A private cloud environment is the most likely cloud environment that an organization that maintains various record types, including health and criminal justice records, would use to limit the attack surface. A private cloud environment provides the highest level of security and control because it is dedicated solely to the organization and is not shared with other organizations. This means that the organization has complete control over the security measures that are implemented and can ensure that they meet the specific security and compliance requirements of the organization, such as those related to health and criminal justice records. Public, hybrid, and community cloud environments all involve sharing infrastructure or services with other organizations, which may increase the risk of attacks or breaches, and may not provide the necessary security and control to meet the specific requirements of the organization.

A doesn't even make sense, the question clearly stating to limit the attack surface. Sharing a cloud with other user is an attack vector.

How does A even make sense? I don't get why there are so many incorrect "correct" answers amongst these questions. I hope I don't have to intentionally choose the wrong answer to score a correct answer cause if I do I'm screwed...

You can check criminal records on websites. Health records can be private. So I would assume the answer is B.

You're not gonna keep public health records on a public domain. Even the military keeps it separate from everything else.

Why would you put something with such sensitive information on a public cloud where it has less security? You want to put it on a Private Cloud. I don't know where they're getting these some of these answers from but they really should reassess that.

When an organization needs to limit the attack surface and has specific regulatory and security requirements, it is likely to opt for a more controlled and restricted cloud environment. In this context, the organization is most likely to use: D. Private A private cloud environment offers greater control over security and compliance. It is dedicated solely to one organization, providing exclusive use and control over the infrastructure. This makes it easier to implement specific security measures and meet regulatory requirements associated with sensitive data, such as health and criminal justice records. The organization can tailor the private cloud environment to its security needs, reducing the exposure to potential security threats compared to more shared environments like public clouds.
