802.11g mode only and Disable SSID should not be checked, they do not offer anything tied to the question. 802.11 doesn't deal with security at all and hiding SSID doesn't add anything to the encryption, and since they're not asking to make it the most secure, then it's not needed.

Hidden network doesn't add to the security, as it's quite simple to find it out. Use WPA2 instead Channel 1 is available, in the 2.4GHz there are only three non-overlapping channels (1, 6, and 11)

For better security, disabling SSID would be better.

Does anybody know how we know to use channel 1? and why not any others?

Because they're showing that neighbors use channels 6 and 11 already, so the best, non-overlapping channel left is 1.

Channel 6 is the default channel most routers are set on so since the 2.4 GHz is part of the ISM band which isn't regulated, it is more advisable to put it on 1 or 12 which are less likely to be interfered with.

What happens with SSID and 802.11g?

I'm wondering if we need to disable the SSID broadcast, for extra security? Or perhaps that doesn't fall under "highest encryption possible"

Wont we need to set the other configurations?
