Constraints: If the budget is not increased, another project constraint will need to be adjusted to reduce the pressure of the cost constraint; the project might need to drop a requirement or change the quality standards. Example:To make the date, the publisher may need to increase the budget to employ additional resources. Another option would be to change the scope of the book, perhaps by shortening the content CompTIA study guide

I think it is stating that you update the WBS to fast-track tasks in the critical path. I agree, that reducing the scope would also be an answer.

How is this not, A: Reduce the scope? Updating the Work Breakdown Structure isn't going to ensure project success if your tasks stay the same.
