[All CAS-004 Questions]

A networking team was asked to provide secure remote access to all company employees. The team decided to use client-to-site VPN as a solution. During a discussion, the Chief Information Security Officer raised a security concern and asked the networking team to route the Internet traffic of remote users through the main office infrastructure. Doing this would prevent remote users from accessing the Internet through their local networks while connected to the VPN.
Which of the following solutions does this describe?

  • A. Full tunneling
  • B. Asymmetric routing
  • C. SSH tunneling
  • D. Split tunneling

In a full VPN, or SSL VPN, connection ALL traffic is transferred through the enterprise, so all work functions go to the company, and all “tomfoolery” goes through the company.

The answer Is A. And I don't know why Examtopics is not correcting these answers!! especially for contributors who paid to access these questions and are the ones correcting them. A is the answer because you're trying to prevent split tunneling {Full tunnel means using your VPN for all your traffic, whereas split tunneling means sending part of your traffic through a VPN and part of it through the open network}

Full tunneling meets the "prevent accessing the internet through their local networks." Full tunneling is a configuration option for a virtual private network (VPN) that routes all of the traffic of a client device through the VPN tunnel, regardless of the destination. This means that when a client device is connected to the VPN, all of its traffic, including Internet traffic, is routed through the main office infrastructure. Full tunneling can be used to prevent remote users from accessing the Internet through their local networks while connected to the VPN, as described in the scenario.

Full Tunneling is the solution that routes all Internet traffic of remote users through the main office infrastructure. Asymmetric routing is the technique of sending different types of traffic (such as voice and data) over different paths. SSH tunneling is a secure way to access a remote system by encrypting the traffic between the client and the server. Split tunneling is the process of allowing traffic to go to certain destinations without being routed through the VPN. Ansewer: A.

The concern is users operating in a spit tunnel config which is what is being described. Using a Full Tunnel would route traffic from all applications through a single tunnel. https://cybernews.com/what-is-vpn/split-tunneling/
