The internal project sponsor is frustrated by a lack of concise, regular updates regarding the status of a project. Which of the following changes would BEST satisfy the project sponsor?
A.
Add the project sponsor to all project email correspondence moving forward
B.
Include the project sponsor in all project meetings moving forward
C.
Add a new line to the communications plan to provide a weekly status report with a dashboard
D.
Include the project sponsor in the daily stand-up with the entire project team
So we are going to bombard the project sponsor with ALL emails & ALL meetings that pertain to an entire project? I think it makes way more sense to have him/her have access to a project dashboard that is concise and to the point.
Adding a new line to the communications plan to provide a weekly status report with a dashboard would be the BEST option to satisfy the project sponsor's need for concise, regular updates regarding the status of the project.
Including the project sponsor in all project email correspondence or meetings could result in information overload and could be inefficient for the project team, potentially hindering productivity. Including the project sponsor in the daily stand-up with the entire project team could be unnecessary if the sponsor only wants regular, concise updates.
Too much information is almost as bad as not enough. Give the stakeholder a project dashboard with the information they need. The stakeholder can pull the information.
I'd go with D. The chart shows their frequency, method and communication type. So they prefer in person, that eliminates A and C. They are frustrated at lack of regular updates, this means their one a week Project Status Meeting isn't enough and it should be more frequent. The only method with more frequent updates is also the only other one that is in person. Answer D.
