Selected Answer: A
A. Disk encryption Explanation: Disk encryption protects all the data stored on a laptop by encrypting the entire hard drive. If the laptop is stolen, the data remains inaccessible without the proper decryption key or credentials. Why not the other options? B. Email encryption – Encrypts email messages, not the entire laptop. It does not protect files stored on the device. C. VPN (Virtual Private Network) – Encrypts data while transmitted over a network but does not secure files stored on the laptop. D. HTTPS – Encrypts web traffic but does not protect locally stored data on a stolen laptop. Conclusion: Disk encryption (such as BitLocker for Windows or FileVault for macOS) is the best method to secure a laptop’s data in case of theft.

For using a disk, it is always a best option as you can make a full working backup of your entire OS on a disk, which you can use in case you lose your computer. Cannot be a VPN (virtual private network) as you need to possess the computer to actually access it.
