I would say A, because the project manager would be looking for a new project as well. If anything they both should report to the PMO.

B In a projectized organization, team members are typically managed by a project manager while they are working on a project. However, when team members are released at the end of a project and placed on the "bench," their management and reporting structure may change. In some cases, benched team members may report to a functional manager or a resource manager who is responsible for overseeing staffing and resource allocation for the organization. In this case, it would be appropriate for benched team members to check in with the functional manager to discuss their status, availability, and potential project opportunities.

Typically, functional managers do not exist in Projectized Organizational Structures. If there is one, his power or authority is very limited. Organizations give project managers authority and power as needed to complete the project but this does not mean that he has absolute authority to do everything he wants. The resource would report to the PM to be reassigned

Selected Answer: C
In projectized organizations, the PM calls the shots. The resources work for the PM. These resources belong to the PM's project alone and has authority. A drawback is that the team needs to know "what next" at the end of the project. This can cause a little anxiety for my team.
