A user visited a website and infected a Windows 10 computer with a virus. A technician troubleshoots the issue, but the virus runs every time the computer is restarted. Which of the following should the technician try NEXT to resolve the issue?
A.
Use Advanced Startup to run a System Image Recovery.
B.
Boot to safe mode and run System File Checker.
C.
Boot to safe mode and run Task Manager.
D.
Use Advanced Startup to run Windows System Restore.
How does system file checker help? The question seems to be focusing on dealing with software that is starting up on boot. System file checker will fix, replace system files. That won't necessarily deal with a virus. It's not a recommended procedure for virus troubleshooting, unless as part of remediation you need to fix windows files or restore them. Something is happening on start up and you can adjust what happens on start up with task manager in windows 10. Short of re-imaging the machine , that seems to what CompTIA wants you to look at. Questions on SFC tend to come a bit different.
Stop complaining about wrong answers and just figure out what the right answer is with this discussion! Not everything is handed to you in a silver platter of correct answers. Share your knowledge with the people here if you know what the correct answer is! Whiny ass bitches.
So the options are
A: is definitely a solution that would fix the problem, but I would leave it as a very last option as is really drastic and invasive
C: don't need to boot in safe mode to open task manager. Comptia wants you to think that some task on the startup triggers the virus, but this is really unlikely to be solved just deactivating a task from startup and wouldn't need to be done in safe mode.
D: might be a solution, but there are good changes some virus do not get removed.
THE CORRECT ONE IS B: the anti-virus can remove the problem and seems to be solved. The fact that the virus get triggered at any boot suggest the problem is in the boot and system file section. A system file checker could indicate if some system file is corrupted and can be fixed.
If B doesn't work i would then move to A
This is question #419. It is basically the same question framed slightly different but I think based on 'sfc' being the obvious answer that you can assume CompTIA is looking for sfc as the answer here based on the choices.
A technician discovers a user's home computer has Windows Update disabled and suspects malware has replaced several Windows OS files. After completing a malware scan, which of the following command line utilities would the technician MOST likely run before enabling Windows Update?
A. xcopy
B. chkdsk
C. sfc
D. gpupdate
There are about 485 questions on this site. If we all got tested for the entire 485 questions, we would need to answer 320 correctly in order to pass with a 70%. So that leaves us with 145 questions to spare. Certification road, here I come!
The testing centers I went to don't show you the questions you got right or wrong. You just get a printout of your score. These questions are direct from the test. Due diligence is required to get the most out of this. Read the discussions, check other dumps.
