I agree. The risk analysis would provide what could go wrong. The back-out plan would provide what to do if something goes wrong.

Definitely A...it's exactly what a backout plan is for, if something goes wrong... what do you do?

A is the correct answer. The technician would fall back on Back-out plan if anything goes wrong.

Selected Answer: A
Risk analysis provides details about how the change could affect the system and eventually downtime. Definitely, the details regarding actions to take in case of problems are in the backout plan.

"All changes to infrastructure come with risk. A proper change management request will certainly require a risk analysis, a detailed assessment of possible problems that could result from the change. >>> What if the upgrade fails? <<< Has the new application been tested on a sample system?" By Mike Meyers' book. So, ti seems that "C" is indeed right since risk analysis contains the details of a possible failure.

I see what you are reading from Mike Myers book. But the way this question is written "Provide details of what will the technician need to do if the update fails?" In Mike Myers book, it also has that the Back-Out Plan DEFINES the steps needed to return to the previous infrastructure.

Jay5084, how about you explain an answer instead of saying "Read it carefully". Its bad enough CompTIA has bullshit questions and ridiculous answers to go with it already.
