SIMULATION -
You have been tasked with setting up a wireless network in an office. The network will consist of 3 Access Points and a single switch. The network must meet the following parameters:
✑ The SSIDs need to be configured as CorpNet with a key of S3cr3t!
✑ The wireless signals should not interfere with each other.
✑ The subnet the Access Points and switch are on should only support 30 devices maximum.
✑ The Access Points should be configured to only support TKIP clients at a maximum speed.

INSTRUCTIONS -
Click on the devices to review their information and adjust the settings of the APs to meet the given requirements.
If any time you would like to bring back the initial state of the simulation, please click the Reset All button.

Guys. For the IP addresses... The instructions specify that all access pointS (all of them) should support a max of 30 devices. You need a CIDR of /27. Since the gateway is given right below the switch (192.168.1.2), the IPs are AP1: 192.168.1.3, AP2: 192.168.1.4, and AP3: 192.168.1.5. The speed and Duplex are also given. Auto/Auto.

I think this is the best solution. All the devices in the problem are on the same subnet. The problem doesn't say to create three subnets.

You say that gateway of switch and speed & Duplex are given, but I don't see that info given anywhere unless you select show answer lol

switch is not a GW (unless it's a multi-layer switch), so I think the GW address should be 192.168.1.1 on router (not listed)

Names (Probably whatever you want, I also called it as the picture for simplicity): AP1, AP2, AP3 Gateway: 192.168.1.2 to match the switch SSID CorpNet, with broadcast enabled Mode should be G if G and B are the only options, since B would just be slower on the same frequency. Channels should be 1 for AP1, 6 for AP2, 11 for AP3, to have the minimum amount of overlap in wireless signals. For Security, WPA2 should be good since it supports TKIP. Not Enterprise since that would use 802.1x. The password should be "S3cr3t!" as mentioned. As for the subnetting of IPs, all I can tell you is that the right subnets are /27, to support 32 devices in total (the 30 host devices + broadcast and network addresses). I'll let someone better at subnetting than me give the correct IP addresses for each AP since I don't want to give any wrong answers.

"For Security, WPA2 should be good since it supports TKIP" You are wrong on that answer. The Access Points should be configured to only support TKIP clients at a maximum speed: Meaning it needs to be WPA which ONLY supports TKIP clients. Remember WPA2 deals with AES and we don't know whether is wpa2 personal or wpa2enterprise. Is asking to

Based on the wording do the access point hold 30 devices each or 30 devices for all 3 combined. If its all 3 combined you could technically make 2 CIDR 29 and one 28 though i don't think that's what its looking for as you may have a gateway problem similar if you make 3 different subnets all connecting to gateway 192.168.1.1. so for the 3 AP use 192.168.1.2/3/4. cidr 27 CorpNet, yes to SSID broadcast. G, channels 1,6,11 auto speed/auto duplex. WPA2 and Enterprise uses AES. Then never work there again (or take credit) because A: bad password B: WPA2 isn't secure enough anymore: C: 30 devices only you will have DHCP scope exhaustion before the end of the day.

"The subnet the Access Points and switch are on should only support 30 devices maximum" means 3 APs and switch on same subnet, so your IPs is not correct.

Why is speed being set to "auto?" The question explicitly says "the access points should be configured to ONLY support TKIP (AES) clients at a MAXIMUM speed. Setting to auto allows devices to connect at lower speeds. Any explanation?

If you look closely that says wired.. It looks like that is connection from AP to the switch , which probably matches the switch settings...

This is my best guess. We need a /27 for 30 devices. Its not clear form the wording if they all should be on one subnet or each subnet should have 30 devices. You could group them all together like Breakoff or split them up. .0-.31 (gateway=.1, switch=.2), .32-.63 (ap1=.33), .64-.95 (ap2=.65), and .96-.127 (ap3=.97)
