The Motherboard would POST without the HDD signal cable connected. It would not post without the CPU power cable connected.

Even by exclusion. Can’t be D because motherboard is on. Can’t be C Power Led is on. Can’t be B the system is on. Only option left is A.

no POST means CPU and/or Motherboard do not function. But some Fans get their power through the Motherboard, so the CPU is the Problem

The reason I believe its (A) is because there is a good chance that the Operating system is on the HDD. I had to rebuild a PC that wouldn't post because the HDD in the PC completely failed. If it was a CPU issue there would be POST beeps. Let me know what you think.
