GPS is a prime suspect for battery consumption acknowledged by CompTIA. Not only does GPS have a high battery drain but it is constantly working if not disabled. They have other exam questions which directly state this too. Correct answer is GPS.

It also mentions heat issues... Display brightness is a main cause of this.

Actually I am going to offer a reason that Brightness could be correct. Firstly, it is set to auto, so the phone will increase the brightness during the day (highest while outside but also moderate while in a bright room etc) which dramatically increases power consumption. Secondly, the screen autolock is set to off. This means that the screen will constantly be on and adjusting brightness higher unless the user turns it off. This would indeed drain the battery extremely fast and could be lessened most effectively by manually setting the brightness.

This has to be A. Privacy > Maps. B says Display > Brightness so we can disregard the Auto-Lock setting because we've gone a level past that in the menu. Also if you look in the usage, Maps has used 3.2GB of data. That is definitely excessive, especially compared to the other statistics.

this should be privacy setting and display setting it is both bad for battery, a phone that never locked that's is a no no, and a map that is always active even close no no.

If there was an option for auto lock NEVER I'd pick that but since it's not an option, I'm gonna have to say A based on the information in the settings, but again brightness could be linked to auto lock never so.... there are 2 correct answers, this question sucks

I think the key phrase in this question is feels warm to the touch, yes GPS would drain your battery but I don't think it make your phone warm to the touch, it has to be brightness because of autolock never

Selected Answer: A
The answer is A. It is all about 'reading comprehension' The giving answer for A is Privacy maps. Therefore you should ONLY look at 'Maps always'. Some of people are talking about 'Auto-lock Never and Night-mode' but answer B ONLY states about Display 'Brightness' and not about the other options like auto-lock and night-mode. So don't make it too complicated.

Display is correct. Auto lock being set to never is the key here

Any person that has ever used a smart phone, ever, knows that Maps, even set as background app, or minimized, are huge power hogs and will make your phone hot, and drain your battery quick. The display brightness has nothing to do with it, Autolock could be an answer, but it was not an option. Answer is A.

Answer should be A. It mentions that the battery still drains "even after it is put away". Therefore brightness cannot be the correct answer.

I don't agree with this answer, The brightness option is set to auto and we are talking about a new phone, no meaning to overheat or lose battery because of this. Even if the Auto-Lock option is set to -Never- it doesn't mean the display will not turn-off automatically because that is the "sleep" option. On the other hand the Maps App in the privacy setting is set to -Always- and the usage show 3.20GB of data consumption. Heavy usage of 4G + Location (GPS) is a big load even for modern mobile devices capable to heat the phone as described and drain a battery in less than one day.

Just because the privacy setting is set to "Always" doesn't mean the maps app is "Always" running. But if you think you know better than A+ be my guest and get the question wrong. The answer is B Display settings. "Auto Lock Never" is a hint. Also in A+ study guides screen brightness is a major cause of phone over heating.
