An application is installed and configured locally on a workstation, but it writes all the save files to a different workstation on the network. Which of the following accurately describes the configuration of the application?
P2P would be phrased as the file is saved on the workstation then copied by another workstation.
Client-server is correct as it is directly saved to another location.
Client/ server is when a client saves remotely his files
Perry to peer is when a group of client use the same resource saved on a server.
The 2 things are pretty similar, but peer to peer is a group use, while client server could be for a single person (I just don't save my files on my pc)
Talking about a single user I would go for b
Peer-to-Peer Networks
The peer-to-peer model is great for small, simple, inexpensive networks. This model can be set up almost instantly, with little extra hardware required. Many versions of Windows (Windows 11, Windows 10, and others) as well as Linux and macOS are popular operating system environments that support the peer-to-peer resource model. Peer-to-peer networks are also referred to as workgroups.
Difficult question...all I can find from Prowse was the following for the 2 main options of B and D.
Client/server - Know that a domain is Microsoft’s implementation of a client/server network. It centralizes the management of users and computers.
Peer-to-peer - Workgroups and domains are logical groupings of computers. A workgroup
(sometimes also referred to as peer-to-peer) is usually a small group of com-
puters that share the same network name. No one computer controls the net-
work, and all systems are considered equal. One of the disadvantages is that a
computer storing data can be accessed only by a maximum of 20 other systems
simultaneously.
Sounds to me more like a workgroup being saved on another workstation (as opposed to a server) so I will go with D for this one. Still not 100% confident though.
Server/Client is correct eg the database is on the server and all client is installed locally. Everything you do is then saved back onto the server on the database. P2P generally lacks the hierarchy
Not the best question, however, isn't the other workstation essentially serving as a file server for the locally installed application? I think so and thus Client/Server is best answer to describe this configuration/relationship.
Peer to Peer is more like I save my files on my machine and the other machine can view it.
