OS Corruption is unlikely as the phone would not function properly, knowing comptia I would stick with overheating as its the most likely out of the answers.

The phone ISN'T functioning properly as the question clearly indicates. I'm with jhonny and would go with C.

Overheating is another symptom of high processor usage, like battery drain. I would go with zero-day malware, because the battery drain just started after the OS update. If the malware is already installed, it doesn't matter if you remove the update or not.

Overheating is most likely to cause short standby time (for example devices can power off to cool down). This is the direct cause. A zero-day attack could be causing the overheating but that is another question.

Selected Answer: C
I am a little confused. If the update is causing the device overheating, so the problem should stop once the update is removed. Other way, if the update corrupts the OS, removing it would not restore the OS

I was confused as to what standby time meant... A phone on standby can last for upward of 3 days, depending on the type of phone and applications packed onto it. Standby is the time you are not actively talking or using the phone, you simply have it on.

Just an FYI although it's not stated in the question: both overheating and under-current can be caused by extreme weather. Phones overheat when it's too hot (causing poor battery life) and cannot provide enough current when it's too cold (also causing poor battery life). There may not be anything technological about it.

Because it says "having problems with standby time" the mobile would less likely overheat if standby stayed on more than not. In this case standby time failure most likely leans towards not staying in standby as long as it should thus overheating due to update that is drawing added attention to mobile

it is a correct answer, any device such as phone or a laptop would have this problem. If something is overheated it can't stay on for too long. Either it will restart itself or power down to get enough time to cool down.

True, however it doesnt make sense that both an ios update and the os being restored would cause the overheating issue to persist.
