EOL marks the point in a product's lifecycle when the manufacturer stops selling and marketing the product, and begins scaling back support. EOL can lead to the eventual end of support from the manufacturer. So the technician should plan to decommission once EOL becomes EOS.
Wouldn't you want to upgrade? Decommissioned mean your just getting rid of it but then that service is gone right? If you upgrade to a new system that is supported then you have a system that is current and the network remains operational. Just a thought
EOL means the device is no longer supported by the manufacturer, meaning no more updates, patches, or technical support. When a device reaches EOL, it should be decommissioned to maintain security, reliability, and supportability in the network
