Functions allow programs to be broken down into smaller, reusable components, improving code organization, readability, and maintainability.
The main purpose of a function is to enable the program to be broken down into smaller, more manageable pieces of code, which can then be organized and reused.
Both procedures and functions enable you to create segments of code that you will reuse. In our earlier example, we used a function to check that the user had entered a number. The key difference, in programming terms, between a procedure and a function is that the latter can return a value to whatever called it, whereas a procedure cannot.
