Selected Answer: C
The way I am interpreting this question is that you cannot see this drive at all. not in the boot order, not in the drive list. The question doesn't specify that he could not boot into the computer, only that the drive cannot be seen. UEFI should allow you to configure that drive into what you need it. This will allow you to format, partition, and assign a letter. In turn showing the drive to the user.

C UEFI stands for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface, and it is a type of firmware that controls the boot process of a computer. UEFI settings allow the technician to configure various aspects of the boot process, such as the boot order, the boot mode, and the security options. If the technician replaces a laptop hard drive with an M.2 SSD, they may need to adjust the UEFI settings to enable the system to detect and boot from the new drive.

Answer B Boot options are specific settings within the UEFI firmware that determine the order in which the system attempts to boot from different devices. This includes hard drives, SSDs, USB drives, and network boot options. In the context of the prompt, the technician would need to access the UEFI settings to modify the boot order and prioritize the new SSD as the primary boot device. This is typically done by pressing a specific key during the boot process, such as F2, F10, or Del. Once in the UEFI setup, the technician would navigate to the Boot section and adjust the boot order to ensure that the SSD is listed as the first boot device. This will allow the system to boot from the new SSD and access the operating system installed on it. GG

C Configuring boot options becomes relevant after the SSD is detected by the system. If the drive isn't recognized, the issue lies at a lower level, such as the UEFI settings.

"For this issue, the technician likely needs to configure the BIOS or UEFI settings. Here’s why: Boot Order Settings: The technician should first check if the boot order or device detection is set to recognize the new M.2 SSD. Sometimes the system won’t detect a new drive automatically, so manually specifying the SSD as a primary boot option may resolve this."

Leaning more towards C as boot options would be covered under UEFI settings and the issue could lie outside of the boot options.

In this scenario, where the laptop does not detect the newly installed M.2 SSD after replacing the hard drive, the technician should most likely configure: B. Boot options. The laptop's boot options may need to be configured to prioritize the M.2 SSD as the boot device. Sometimes, the system defaults to booting from another device, such as a traditional hard drive or a network boot option. By accessing the BIOS or UEFI settings and adjusting the boot options to prioritize the M.2 SSD, the technician can ensure that the system attempts to boot from the SSD first. Therefore, the correct answer is: B. Boot options.
